Gear that i used

Several friend and  photographer enthusiast ask to me what gear  usually i used to made a  good pictures?

In the last 5 year, i used Nikon D200 to made all the assigment and my personal project photo. The first digital i used it's low end camera Canon EOS 300D. I learn and made a lot of shot with this gear. now  i use Nikon D7000. 

If i have assigment that need special gear, like medium format digital back, or high end SLR, i will rent it. Hope one day i could have it :)

Camera lens that i have is 2 vario lens, Nikon 24-85 mm, f3.5-5.6 (now it's broken and change with 18 -105mm) and Wide angle Sigma 10-20mm. This 2 lens has cover almost all my photo activities. Sometimes in special conditions i borrow or rent, like Nikon 24-70 f2.8, or 70-200mm, f2.8 , or other lens depend on photo assigment.

For tripod  i use  Manfroto and an old Velbron made from iron, my mentor said "use a tripod that not dancing with the wind".

For lighting system, i use Jinbei from a made in china, but i'am familiar with several lighting system like Golden Eagle, Visatec, Broncolor, Bowen, and Prophoto.

Is it Apple Macintosh made your pictures look good in Computer? 

Yes and no, Yes if your made a shot with a great angle, nice composition, rule of third, blue sky, perfect lighting, good expression  and other aspect of photography. Not only Apple, you can use Sony, Acer, Toshiba or other brand, that have a good quality with graphic interface card.

The first computer laptop i used for presentation, in 2004, i used an old Siemens laptop with a low baterai conditions  so it's charger always on to the electricity, but still made a good and nice color for work and presentation. Then i used Apple Powerbook G4, for 6 year, push it to the limit till end. Now i use Apple MacbookPro series.

Why i choice Nikon?

I believe every person have their own taste. I like Nikon color. I have a friend that like skin tone and faster shutter speed in Canon. I have friend like color, and electronic view finder of  Sony Alpha. So you must know why you choice and use Nikon, Canon, Sony, Pentax or other brand.

Are we need a good and branded gear?


Using a high end camera, lens and other photography system it's like driving a car. Ofcourse everyone has a dream for driving and own a Ferari, Jaguar, or Audi, but we can still use an ordinary car to reach on.


if you only have a low end camera, used it, just think with what you have, learn a lot, find the trick, and push your gear to the limit. make sure all the tool and function in good condition, not jam or bad conditions. 


What ever your gear, make sure all the equipment you know how to use it like a back of your hand. Like an old man says "the man behind the gun", believe me it's still work.
