Home Made Cake
This week i made a little personal project. Just a simple photo, with white background. This is a home made delicious red velvet cake. i have tasted this cake, believe me, it's very delicious.
When we made a photo, usually we just think to change angle and composition to made other alternative photo. We just use one lighting set up for one object and made several angle.
For this project, i made two photo, and try to think how if we just use one angle, and compare with two different simple lighting.
Photo I
This simple photo, i use two studio lamp, one light with stander reflector i bounce to cealing for a soft light. I recommended if you have a soft box use it. And one light with stander reflector and honeycomb, for backlight to create conture light.

Here with the same angle, just little bit change focus, this second photo i made, with just used 1 lighting, and 7 mirror to reflected from light source.
Remember about, photography is about light and shadow,and shadow made our photo more dramatic.

In this day people usually use the safe mode, use the set of photo 1, made a clean and shot photo, then use photoshop with brush or burn tools to made this shadow. In several condition same time i did it too, but we must know that this technic could be made in pure photography ways.
Soo...which photo do you prefer ?
For me it's depant for situation, for editorial book, photo menu, or it will combine with text and design photo 1, a clean and simple photo shoot it's look nice, and for artistic photo, photo 2 it more dramatic and outstanding.
What ever technic we use to make a picture, remember like this Red Velvet cake....
