Female Leather Bag
Several week ago, i have a call to made photography assigment about female leather bag. I always excited to made product photo shoot. It's not a big brand, It a local brand, small business, the new one, with material a genuine leather, bag of cowhide.
This project not came from creative agency, she know me from my website and decided to call. This direct client have a good taste in visual. She not just need a typical photo like limbo style using white background, she need an artistic photo with light and shadow for her leather bags. She has a good eyes.
In one day i meet her to looked this product, and a little brainstorm to know what she wanted, than a week later we made a shoot. we made a more than 10 product shoot with a simple layout.
Technique
All this photo using simple technique. This all photo using 1-2 lighting system. Photo (1) using 1 lighting from top light, with back light position, using standart reflector with honeycomb and one white reflector in the other side.
Photo (2) and (3) using two lighting system, with 1 side light used strip light,and white reflector at the other side, for back light i used 1 standart reflector with honeycomb.
The basic think we should know about this product is, we should be able to capture the pattern and texture of the material. The taste of this skin. is it feel soft, rough, or others.
With the same technique, in photo (4), we moved it in outdoor area, we call it mix light, how to control natural light combine with artificial light. Using light meter camera, we set in in under 1-2 stop.
All this photo, capture using DSLR Camera Nikon D7000 with Nikon lens 24-85mm.
